In the interest of keeping the residents of Indiantown informed and safe the Village has gathered important information regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

COVID-19 is a new disease that is still being studied to better understand how it spreads and the causes of the disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 primarily spreads from person-to-person who are in close contact with one another through respiratory droplets of infected individuals. COVID-19 can be spread before infected individuals exhibit symptoms or feel sick.

As of 11:26 a.m. today 21 Florida residents have tested positive for COVID-19, 301 individuals in Florida have tested negative for COVID-19, and 147 individuals in Florida are awaiting test results. Currently, nobody has tested positive for COVID-19 in Indiantown, Martin County or bordering counties.

Protective Measures:

  • Ensure the readiness of your disaster supply kit.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.
  • Practice social distancing and avoid close contact with people who are sick.
