Field Test
If you think the water meter at your home/business is not registering accurately, the Village Water & Wastewater Utility will, at your request, field test the meter provided it has not been tested within the past six (6) months.
Bench Test
A bench test may be performed if you think that further testing is necessary. The meter will be removed from the service location and taken to be machine tested. Should you request a bench test, you will be required to pay a deposit, the amount of which is determined by meter size. If the meter registers fast, your deposit will be refunded. If it is accurate or registers slow, the deposit will be retained to partially defray the cost of testing. Any faulty meter will be replaced. Bench test is sent to manufacturer for calibration and testing.
